NortheastFolk hosts an open mailing list intended to help folks in our little community to communicate quickly with one another. Sure, there are many such lists out there, but many have shortcomings. Most of those shortcomings are the result of trying to pack in too many features, or jam advertising down your throat.

We're trying to keep things simple.

This is a true open mailing list. No need to log in somewhere on the web and weed your way through a hodge-podge of posts and categories to find the information you're looking for. Any message sent to this list is either sent to your inbox or archived on our server and sent as a digest - again to your mailbox. Sure, you can search the archive through the website if you inadvertently delete a message, but that's just a backup. The whole idea here is to make it convenient for you, not to require you jump through hoops.

SPAM - We find spam to be as offensive as you do. In order to protect against spam, we require you to verify that you are really asking to subscribe. You will be sent an email with a confirmation link upon subscription. Simply click on the link or reply to the message to confirm your subscription.

As an additional security precaution, your first message will require moderator approval. This won't take very long as there are several moderators. We're just making sure that we're a few steps ahead of the spam-bots. :-).

Also, be assured that we will not share your email address with anyone (even other list members). We figure that's your choice, not ours.
